NSP Begins 59th Basic Recruit Camp

 

 

May 7, 2018 (Grand Island, Neb.)  — The next class of Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) recruits has begun their journey to become Nebraska State Troopers. This is the 59th Basic Recruit Class in NSP’s history.

 

“We have hired folks who have gone through an extensive vetting process to make sure that they are the right men and women with the right character to serve the citizens of Nebraska,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “We’re looking forward to training and preparing them to be successful as Nebraska State Troopers.”

 

The class is made up for 17 recruits from various regions of Nebraska and one recruit from Wyoming. The recruits of NSP Camp 59 will complete 22 weeks of training before graduating and becoming sworn troopers in October. The members of Camp 59 are:

Alex Coffman – Dunning                                           Ethan Schroeder – Omaha

T’Ronne Estwick – Omaha                                        Jonathan Schwarz – Unadilla

Hunter Garrison – DeWitt                                          Kara Simpson – Lincoln

Lucas Gleisberg – Douglas, WY                                Chase Sund – Hickman

Tyler Mann – Ravenna                                               Brandon Sutton – Benedict

Mykel Miller – Papillion

 

“They’ve been able to live their life in a way where they’ve gained some integrity already,” said Captain Jeff Roby, Commander of the NSP Training Academy. “They have an unmatched ability to make good decisions and those good decisions will be needed as they go through their career.”

 

Training consists of hundreds of hours of classroom and field instruction. The NSP Training Academy is located in Grand Island at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center.
